BEST OKTOBERFEST IN BRIGHTON

As summer draws to a close, there’s two very exciting new beer events taking place in Brighton at the end of September.

Brighton is incredibly fortunate that Paulaner, one of Germany’s oldest and most respected breweries, has invited BRIGHTON BIERHAUS to be one of just 8 official ‘Paulaner Oktoberfest’ venues in the UK, and the only one in the South East for their first ever ‘UK Oktoberfest Tour’.

In addition, Cantillon, one of Belgium’s most legendary breweries, has named the HAUS ON THE HILL as one of their 7 UK ‘Zwanze Day 2021’ sites, bringing this high profile international beer event to Brighton for the very first time.

Oktoberfest at the Brighton Bierhaus runs from Saturday 18th September to Sunday 3rd October. The Bierhaus will be serving Paulaner’s Official Oktoberfest beer along with a range of other delicious German beers on draught throughout the festival. Not only is the pub a German beer go-to for the festival, but they stock the biggest range of German draught and bottled beer in Brighton so is worth a visit any day of the week. And if you’re feeling peckish they sell award-winning frankfurters imported directly from Bavaria, in fact they use the same supplier as the German Embassy in London!

Josh Hook, Bierhaus Manager, said “its very exciting to be working with Paulaner on this event and testament to the hard work the team has put in to make the Bierhaus the best beer bar in the city for German and Belgian beers. We have over 100 German and Belgian beers in addition to beers from some of the UK best breweries”.

At the Haus on the Hill, Ali Charlesworth said “we’re honoured to be chosen to be one of only 7 sites in the UK for Zwanze Day 2021. It’s a huge event in the international beer calendar and to be hosting this in Brighton is fantastic news”. Zwanze Day is Saturday 25th September and the special Zwanze Day beer will be poured at 8pm per the Cantillon tradition. Tickets are required for the Zwanze Beer and can be bought at https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/zwanze-day-2021-cantillon-haus-on-the-hill-brighton-tickets-169700024341. In addition to the special Zwanze Beer, Haus on the Hill will have a range of Cantillon beers on draught from Thursday 23rd which in itself will be a unique beer event in the city.

Stephen Whitehurst from Brighton Bier, who run both the Brighton Bierhaus and Haus on the Hill, said “we’re so proud of all the hard work the teams at all our 3 sites have put in over what has been a very difficult period for the industry. The fact that they’ve been asked to host two such prestigious beer events is a reflection of that work and how they’ve been able to position the pubs among the best beer venues in the city. That legendary brewers like Paulaner and Cantillon recognise that is great news”.
